Terms & Conditions
Rannie Studio
Last updated: 10 July 2026
These terms apply to bespoke commissions arranged with Rannie Studio, a London-based fine jewellery studio. By enquiring about or commissioning a piece, you agree to the terms below.
1. Our Commissions
All jewellery is made to order. There is no ready-made stock available for immediate purchase at this time. Each commission begins with a consultation, followed by design, making, and hallmarking stages as outlined on our website.
2. Quotes and Pricing
- All prices are quoted individually per commission, based on materials, stone(s), and complexity.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date given, after which prices may be subject to change (particularly for precious metals and stones, whose market prices fluctuate).
- A quote is not a confirmed order until a deposit has been received.
3. Deposits and Payment
- Commissions require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total price to begin work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The remaining balance is due before dispatch or on collection.
- We reserve the right to pause work on a commission if payment is not received as agreed.
4. Made-to-Order Goods and Cancellation Rights
Because each piece is made specifically to your specification, bespoke commissions are generally excluded from the standard 14-day right to cancel under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, once work has begun. We will make this clear at the point of deposit.
If you wish to cancel a commission before work has started, please contact us as soon as possible — deposits may still be non-refundable depending on work already undertaken (design time, stone sourcing, etc.), which we'll explain clearly before you commit.
5. Materials and Stones
- We source precious metals and natural stones through our trusted network of suppliers and specialist setters and casters in Hatton Garden and beyond.
- Natural gemstones vary in colour, inclusion, and characteristics — no two stones are identical, and this is part of the nature of working with natural materials, not a defect.
- Where a client provides their own stone(s), Rannie Studio is not liable for pre-existing damage, undisclosed treatments, or valuation discrepancies in client-supplied materials. We recommend independent valuation of any heirloom or client-supplied stone before work begins.
6. Timelines
- Estimated commission timelines will be discussed at the start of the process and are approximate, not guaranteed, given the bespoke nature of the work and reliance on third-party casters, setters, and hallmarking services.
- We will communicate proactively if a timeline changes.
7. Hallmarking
Applicable pieces are hallmarked at the London Assay Office in accordance with UK hallmarking law. Hallmarking documentation will be provided with your completed piece where applicable.
8. Ownership and Design
- Designs, sketches, and CAD renders created during the commission process remain the intellectual property of Rannie Studio unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We may photograph completed commissions for portfolio and marketing purposes (including social media and this website), unless you request otherwise. We will always respect a client's request for privacy regarding a specific piece.
9. Delivery and Returns
Full delivery timelines, shipping methods, customs/duties information, and our returns policy are set out on our dedicated Delivery and Returns page. By placing an order, you agree to the terms set out there as part of these Terms & Conditions.
10. Repairs, Resizing, and Warranty
[Add your specific policy here.]
11. Limitation of Liability
Rannie Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our liability in relation to any commission is limited to the value of that commission.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
