Frequently Asked Questions

Starting a Commission

Before we begin

How do I start a commission?
Send us an enquiry with as much or as little detail as you have, a stone you already own, a rough idea, or an occasion you're designing for. We aim to respond within 48 hours on business days.
Can I bring my own stone?
Yes. Whether it's a loose stone, an inherited gem, or a piece you no longer wear, tell us what you're starting with and we'll design around it.
Do you only make engagement rings?
No. We make rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and redesigns, engagement rings are one part of what we do, not the whole of it.
What metals can I choose from?
18k yellow, white, or rose gold, platinum, and sterling silver, tell us your preference during the design consultation. Note that for engagement rings, we work only with 18k gold or platinum.
How do I find my ring size?
The most accurate way is to have your finger measured at a local jeweller. If that's not possible, an at-home ring sizer or printable ring size chart works as a starting point, we'll always confirm sizing with you before production.
Do you only work with natural stones, or lab-grown too?
Both. We work with lab-grown and natural stones according to your preference and budget.
What's the deposit, and when is the balance due?
Commissions require a 50% non-refundable deposit to begin work, with the remaining balance due before dispatch or collection. Full terms are in our Terms & Conditions.
What are your price ranges?
Commissions start at £2,000. We work with clients according to their budget, and we're always happy to guide you on pricing if you're not sure where to start, your vision comes first, and we'll help you get there in a way that fits what you're happy to spend.
Will gold prices affect my quote?
Gold and precious metal prices move with the market, so quotes are valid for 30 days from when they're given. If market prices shift significantly between your consultation and when you're ready to proceed, we'll let you know before confirming your deposit, no surprises on the final invoice.
Can I visit the studio?
Yes, by appointment, we're based in Hatton Garden, London. Mention it when you enquire and we'll arrange a time.

During the Commission

While your piece is being made

How long does a commission take?
Typically 6–10 weeks once your design is confirmed. More complex pieces, like a 30+ stone necklace with individually set stones, can take longer to source and complete. If your piece falls into that category, we'll be clear about the realistic timeline from the outset, not partway through.
Is my piece hallmarked?
Yes, applicable pieces are hallmarked at the London Assay Office.
Do you ship internationally, and what about customs?
Yes, via DHL Express. Import duties and customs fees are the recipient's responsibility and vary by country. Full details are on our Delivery & Returns page.

After Delivery

Once your piece is with you

Can I resize or return my piece?
One complimentary resize is included for rings within 2 years, with proof of purchase. Other bespoke commissions are made to order and non-refundable once work has begun, though genuine faults are always covered — see Delivery & Returns for full details.
How do I care for my jewellery?
Most stones can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush, warm water, and a small amount of mild soap, then left to air-dry on a clean cloth. Softer stones like emeralds or pearls shouldn't be soaked, a gentle wipe with a soft cloth is safer for those.
